Day 3: The Great Rollercoaster Challenge
9th August 2017
Our second day started
at 6.30 in the morning with jogging. After that we had breakfast and then we
went into our courses. So, today we had had a big project. Investigating the
Physics of Rollercoasters. For three hours
we planned, calculated and finally built our rollercoasters across the whole
classroom.
Between courses we had
lunch, we sang in the choir and joined the vocal group. The non-singers went to
sport where they played Volleyball and Basketball. At 4 o´clock we had 30
minutes left to build our rollercoasters and then we started the competition.
There was a big race and one of the boy´s groups won the speed challenge… but
only just!
In the evening after
dinner we went to the different KüA´s [courses designed and run by the students
for the students] which were Orchestra, learning French and a Japanese game.
There was also a KüA for Martial Arts which was very interesting and exciting
to take part in. The second KüA´s from 20.45 to 22.00 o´clock were the drama
club, where the students designed a play for the final presentation and
Badminton for the more sporty in the lasrge sports hall with Julia. Lukas ran a
KüA on to learn how to ride a Unicycle which was visited by Nick, our course
leader, who loves all kind of bicycles – but kept falling off this one.
After the KüA´s we all
fell asleep very quickly because of this exciting but also really long day.
